state一般用作及物动词,接名词、代词、that从句、带疑问词的从句作宾语。还可接以“to be+ n. ”或to have+ v -ed充当补足语的复合宾语。
state常用于“It is/wasstated that...”结构。
state相比于say表达更正式,常用于正式的公文或者商业文件,表示“说,陈述,声明”。
The chairman stated that the contract would be signed on 16th April. The teacher said that he had to go back to classroom soon.
一般情况下,我们可以说The negotiations arestated to have broken down.而不能说Theystatethe negotiations to have broken down;
state首字母s大写,表示为“国家”,例:the political policy of the State;
state也可以来指我国古代春秋战国时期的“国”,the...State或State of...表示“...国”,如the Lu Stat或the State of Lu,the Warring States表示为“战国”;
the United States of America是正式通用的名称,简写the States。The (United) States (of America) is a republic of the old type.这里state用is,做单数名词。美国人称美国国家为America,称自己为Americans,不同其它国外的人一样称它为the United States of North America。美国人自己也不 把the United States简称作the States;
